Volunteer Orientation – MusiCore Kensington
September 11 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Rock to the Future always needs volunteers to work directly with our students in grades 6-12. You can assist with music lessons, help students with their homework, be a positive role model, or perform for our students.
MusiCore Kensington runs Tuesday-Thursday from 3-6pm from September 2019 through mid-June 2020. The time commitment is flexible. Some volunteers help out once a week, some once a month, and some multiple times a week. If you’d like to learn more, please sign up above and join us for our volunteer information and training session!
We are looking for people to help with:
MUSIC: Help students on a variety of instruments and musical styles, including voice coaching, instrument lessons, and songwriting. We teach drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard.
HOMEWORK: Assist students in grades 6 – 12 with a variety of subjects including math, English, writing, science, social studies, standardized test prep, and more!
ACADEMIC MENTORING: Volunteers are paired with a students to help them improve in their trouble subjects. Academic mentors have regular check-ins with the student and the academic coordinator about the student’s progress.
MENTORING: Be a positive role model and mentor a Philadelphia youth! Play games, chat about their day, talk about their future, and inspire a teen.
Rock to the Future provides free music programs for Philadelphia youth from underserved neighborhoods. Volunteer with us to share the magic of music with the next generation!
