Adé Fuqua joins Rock to the Future as Institutional Giving Director

Philadelphia, Pa. - January 28, 2022 - Adé Fuqua has joined Rock to the Future (RocktotheFuture.org) as their first Institutional Giving Director with generous support from The Nelson Foundation’s Capacity Building grant program. Adé worked previously under Mayor Nutter as his Chief of Staff in the Office of the Managing Director, Deputy Mayor of the Administration. He has been recognized as one of the City's top Difference Makers, created the Philadelphia Youth Music Partnership, and developed PhillyRising – a nationally recognized anti-violence program supporting Philadelphia communities suffering from gun-violence.

"Music is healing. Caring for people is a calling. Here in Philadelphia with Rock to the Future, I am still answering the call,” said Adé, Rock to the Future’s new Institutional Giving Director and proud father of two children in the Philadelphia School District.

Rock to the Future is thrilled to bring Adé to the organization. As youth violence grows throughout the city, Rock to the Future is committed to serving young people and providing transformative music, mentoring, educational, and career development opportunities at no cost to students. Adé’s experience with community building, anti-violence programs, and music education will strengthen Rock to the Future’s ability to support and serve young people throughout the city.

Rock to the Future provides student-driven music programs in a safe and supportive environment at no cost for Philadelphia youth. Through music, their students build life skills to unlock their fullest potential to support current and lifelong well-being. Rock to the Future achieves social justice and economic empowerment, interrupting the cycle of poverty, through music education, mentoring, and educational support. Rock to the Future has grown from a volunteer organization serving 13 students in 2010 to now serving hundreds of children and teens throughout Philadelphia after school, in-school, during the summer, and online.
