Title: Education Coordinator
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week: Monday and Wednesday at Kensington High School: 2:00PM - 6:15PM during the school year and 8am - 4pm during the summer; Tuesday and Thursday at Roosevelt Middle School: 1:30PM - 6:15PM during the school year, 8am - 4pm during the summer; Remote administrative time.
Compensation: $47,000.00 - $53,000.00 a year plus medical, dental, and vision benefits, 403b retirement fund,

Rock to the Future supports positive youth development and economic empowerment through free, student-driven music programs for Philadelphia youth. We envision that all youth in Philadelphia will have access to the life-changing benefits of our transformative music programs.
The Education Coordinator supports pathways to professional careers through educational and life skill support for young people in under-resourced areas. This position is primarily in-person at our MusiCore program located in Germantown and Kensington, with some remote time for administrative duties. This position will also attend events, professional development opportunities, and other occasional in-person events. This is a full-time, non-exempt role.
Essential Functions:
- Support high school graduation and pathways to college and trade programs including meeting graduation requirements, dual enrollment, planning biannual college and trade visitation trips, FAFSA nights, scholarship opportunities, and additional post-secondary education activities
- Support middle school students with the high school selection process
- Plan daily activities including scheduling guest speakers, activity stations, projects, and other engaging youth-led activities that support educational, life-skill, and social emotional needs
- Support educational needs through weekly portal checks, teacher outreach, and utilization of volunteers to support individual tutoring and educational needs
- Lead the Higher Education Scholarship Award Process
- Support alumni students after graduation to ensure attendance of professional pathways
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment
- Set up academic space and clean up academic space with support from participants
- Participate in weekly meetings with MusiCore Manager and administrative team
- Attend student performances and events which may be in the evenings and on the weekends
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- 1+ year of experience in a similar education role
- Strong connections to North, West, and/or Northwest Philadelphia and current resident of Philadelphia
- Prior experience working with young people in Philadelphia or similar urban environments
- Strong technology skills including Google Drive and GSuite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely organized and have excellent task management skills
- Must be motivated, energetic, punctual, responsible, and exhibit a positive attitude to be an excellent role model
- Ability to lead, teach, and interact with students, team, and volunteers
- Full commitment to the mission/philosophy of Rock to the Future
- Preferred skills: Experience with trauma-informed practices and restorative practices
